![]() | Did anyone else like the movie "Outsourced"? It's an independent film made in Seattle (and India). The plot is that an order fulfilment department for patriotic novelty products is being outsourced to India, and the head manager is forced to go there and train the people. It's a romantic comedy, and I really like the way that they examined the differences between modern and traditional life in both Indian and the US, and how that affects dating/romance and marriage. Of course there's also a lot about how different the workplace and social obligations are in both countries. If you haven't caught it yet here's a trailer and also here's one of my favorite scenes. My other favorite scene was the one where the main character encounters non-US plumbing for the first time and learns which hand to wipe with... you'd think it'd be basic toilet humor, but they pull it off with enough grace that I totally laughed. What about you, did you like the movie? |

![]() | Here is the website for the movie: Outsourced - The Movie I looked around for information on international release, but I think that the DVD is your only choice. That's too bad because I thought it was quite beautiful on the big screen but most of the joy of the film are the sweet moments between the actors and that I think doesn't need a big screen. |
