Tarzan is on a distinguished road
Default Star Gallery.....

Here i will give you a complete lifetime of an actor... this list would be updated regularly.....

First one is Our Admin's Favourite. I have to put him first in the list coz he is the boss here...

So the first one is here....

Sunny Deol...

He had a physique of a Hercules. He had the Greek God looks to match. He had muscles (just like his father Dharmendra) and innocent looks just like his mother Prakash. Ajay Singh Deol’s debut was the most talked about event in town. Ajay Singh Deol. The name may sound unfamiliar but he happens to be the most popular actor up North. And the favourite star amongst the youth. He can stir you with his fury. Yet when you meet him in person, he is shy and as cool as cucumber. Ajay Singh Deol is none other than Punjab-da-puttar Sunny Deol. He made his debut with Betaab. Amrita Singh who played the lead opposite him in the film, and Sunny Deol were heralded as the most promising pair that year. Betaab was a film with a typical Mills and Boons romance. An arrogant rich girl and a poor boy! He melts her arrogance into love. When obstacles come from the girl’s father, he wins him over too. Sunny Deol was the perfect man every girl wanted. He became a hot favourite overnight!

Because the pair became a huge hit, producers and directors began making a beeline outside Sunny Deol’s and Amrita Singh’s house to cast them in their pet projects. But the next film that featured them together (Sunny) bombed at the box-office. Rahul Rawail, who gave him Betaab, signed him for Arjun. The film was repeated the Betaab trick for Sunny. Dimple Kapadia was his heroine in the film. And as expected the film once again made Sunny Deol a hot property. But if it enhanced Sunny Deol’s prospects at the box-office, it also brought into open his relationship with Dimple Kapadia. Tongues wagged as to how Dimple had a soft corner for him. But his conservative background did not permit Sunny to accept Dimple in print. His wife Pooja preferred to keep a low profile. One only heard stories about how she had threatened to leave him and go back to her family in London. But things finally came into the open when Dimple Kapadia in an exclusive interview admitted that she and Sunny Deol were in a relationship.

Meanwhile most of the films that Sunny starred in had indifferent response at the box-office. Not happy with the way his career was moving, Sunny Deol desperately wanted a film that would change not only his image but also prospects at the box-office. The film offer came very soon.

Director Rajkumar Santoshi approached Sunny with a film. The role was one of a lifetime. It would display Sunny’s brawn and brain to the fullest. But with Sunny no longer a hot property at the box-office and Rajkumar Santoshi still a debutant, no producer was willing to stake his money on the film. Sunny reposed faith in Santoshi’s talent. He launched his own production company Vijayta Films. And made the film under that banner. The film was Ghayal. When released, it became a huge hit at the box-office. Sunny Deol became a star to reckon with.

Next came another film with Santoshi. Damini. Though it was just a guest appearance, the role fetched Sunny Deol his first National Award. However the Santoshi-Sunny Deol friendship was too good to last. It cracked over one dream that both had. That was to make a film on the famous freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. Sunny had discussed the film with Santoshi years ago and said that how he had always longed to play Bhagat Singh. Santoshi offered to direct his dream venture. But destiny had other things in store for Sunny and Santoshi. They both got busy with other films. When they found time to actually materialize their dream, Santoshi felt Sunny looked a bit old - after all Bhagat Singh was just 23 when he was hanged. Sunny agreed to play Chandrashekhar Azad. But for the role of Bhagat Singh he wanted to cast Bobby. Santoshi felt that Ajay Devgan was more apt for it.

The friendship cracked! Sunny Deol roped in cousin Guddu Dhanoa to direct his film 23rd March 1931. Santoshi launched The Legend Of Bhagat Singh with Ajay Devgan. Both completed their films on time. And both released their film on the same day. And as expected both proved to be a block for other’s profits. Critics however praised Santoshi’s efforts. They claimed to be well researched and more authentic. While Sunny’s appeared to be pleasing the box-office.nsiders today claim that Santoshi and Sunny have resolved their differences. Santoshi has now signed Sunny Deol to play the role of Karna in his legendary epic Mahabharat. And the talented actor is sparring no efforts to make the role a special one. The otherwise smooth going Sunny also had a problem with Yash Chopra when the director conned him to playing the lead in Darr. Giving separate narrations to Shahrukh Khan and Sunny Deol, it was Khan who walked away with all the sympathy in the film while Sunny appeared to be the villain. A disillusioned Sunny swore never to work with Yash Chopra again. So did Aamir Khan who was offered Shahrukh Khan’s role originally. Aamir insisted on joined narration with Sunny Deol. Yash Chopra refused to comply. And Aamir walked out of the film. Truth is stranger than fiction as is obvious from the fact that Aamir Khan and Sunny Deol have been proved lucky for each other. When Ghayal was released so did Dil on that very day. Both films met with stupendous success at the box-office. Ten years later Gadar-Ek Prem Katha and Lagaan were released on the same day. And both created box-office history.

Though Sunny Deol has time and again made news as an actor, his efforts to show his talent as a director hasn’t had such encouraging response. Dillagi, his debut, that he launched after the London fiasco with Gurinder Chadda and Karisma Kapoor, bombed at the box-office.

Came Anil Sharma’s Gadar—Ek Prem Katha and Sunny Deol was back in the reckoning. The Anil Sharma and Sunny Deol jodi tried to work their magic once again with The Hero. But the film turned out to be a zero at the BO.

After The Hero, Sunny Deol has not had many releases. He has been down with a severe back pain. “It’s been nine months that I have not shot. So obviously I have been away from the limelight,” he said. Sunny Deol also hit headlines recently when he announced his decision to play Prithiviraaj Chauhan, Dr.Chandraprakash Dwivedi being the director. Yet another controversy was brewing between Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi. Santoshi too wanted to make the film on the historical hero with Ajay Devgan playing Prithivraj Chauhan. Santoshi and Deol did not want history to repeat itself. “I’m acting in the film. But I’m not producing it,” Sunny clarified. Santoshi as off now has given up the idea of making the film. He announced Saamna.

Sunny Deol is currently playing a Jat in Jo Bole So Nihaal. When asked if playing Jat had proved to be lucky for him, he said, “I have not analysed that! I play all my roles with equal élan. Some films work. Some don’t! But I have enjoyed all the characters that I have played so far.” [/b]
