Default Dreamingtime and other Resources.

I could not find a section to post a network of links that help us to look at our thoughts, whether they arrive to us in daylight or starlight. I thought I would start a thread that can deliver valuable resources. Forgive me if I am being presumptuous. Thanks. As I said in my introductory statement, I love symbolism and imagery..I hope you find this gesture to be a first step for giving.

Psychics and Spirituality

Dreams

Dreams have a long history both as a source of inspiration, artistic or otherwise. Throughout history, people have sought meaning in dreams. They have been described psychologically by psychologists like Sigmund Freud (1856 –1939) as reflections of the unconscious. By prophets, as divine gifts or messages. And by psychics as messages from spirit guides or guardian angels. Creative dreaming is an important tool for solving dilemmas, finding inspirational ideas, predicting the future and developing psychic skills. Some psychics think of the Dream State as playtime for the mind and pay little attention to what dreams foretell. Whilst other psychics believe that during dreamtime our minds are unburdened and reveal visions to help, warn and inform.

Prediction of the future through the interpretation of dreams holds great credence in ancient Judeo-Christianity. Both the old and the New Testament show examples of divine inspiration coming as a dream to people. In the Islamic faith it is said that Mohammed had dreams revealing the Koran. The story of Saint Patrick and his conversion of the people of Ireland to Christianity also feature dreaming. To the Australian Aborigines, dreaming or dreamtime, is the entire mythical past, present and future. They believe that anything outside of their dreams has no existence in reality. Dream interpretation was an integral part of American Indian culture. The Iroquois recognised dreams as the language of the soul. And the Maricopa conduct dream journeys to seek wisdom in medicine.

In ancient Greece healing temples existed where people could sleep in order to dream about the proper cure for an ailment. In ancient times it was common for leaders to take dream-oracles or psychics to battles to receive their advice and guidance, This practice continued into the Early Middle Ages. However, In the Later Middle Ages, dreams were seen as temptations from the Devil, and thus were seen as dangerous. There has been much scientific investigation into dreaming and there are many differing theories as to what dreaming actually is. Most agree that dreams are associated with ‘REM’ (rapid eye movement) sleep but the evidence is not conclusive, as ‘REM’ sleep is not as deep as non-REM sleep. An out-of-body experience is the state when you are aware that you are dreaming, in this state you can fly, float and travel to past or future times and other dimensions including the astral planes.

Interpreting dreams is most probably the easiest way to connect to your higher self and the world of spirit. There is nothing psychic about understanding dreams. Although a certain degree of intuition, logic and a basic understanding of symbolic interpretation is needed. Some people recall dreams with great ease whilst others forget them almost the moment that they wake up. To benefit from dreams it is important to develop the skill of dream recall in order to access fully the information offered during sleep. And for this purpose it is helpful to use a dream journal or diary, which should be kept next to the bed. Alternatively, place a tape recorder by your bed. It is also useful to meditate just before sleep and telling the subconscious mind that the dream will be remembered. On waking sit quietly for a while and then record the dreams, including any words, pictures or images that you can remember, also include sketches or diagrams. If you can’t remember the whole dream, note down any moods or emotions associated with it, don’t force it but allow the recollections to flow back naturally. Also don’t try to analyse or unravel the meaning of the dream at this stage. With practice it is possible over a few weeks to use dreams as a source of intuitive understanding with regards to dealing with potential obstacles that lie ahead.

There are no ‘good’ or ‘bad’ dreams and they should be viewed in a none-judgmental way, and not seen as a flaw in the personality of the dreamer. It is often the case that the main character in the dream, whether male, female represents the individual having the dream. For example, if the dream involves a fox, it may mean that dreamer is being instructed to adopt a more stealthful approach in there dealings with a particular person or situation, rather than them being a crafty devious person.

Some common dreams are the ones associated with toilets or bathrooms and suggest that the dreamer may not be taking care of the troubles that are bothering them. Chase dreams represent the dreamer trying to run away from something that is troubling them, the solution being to confront the pursuer. In a costume dream, the dreamer is reliving past lives. Flying dreams indicate that the dreamer is investigating new thoughts or avenues. Falling may indicate a fear of failing in the quest. In money dreams, small amounts of money i.e. coins, represent small changes coming into his or her life, where as a large number of notes indicates the changes will be significant. Sexual dreams indicate that the dreamer is learning to balance or merge the male and female intuitive forces in his or her life

Here is the original link although it's the home page. The dream section is listed in the left hand column

Maksa, I did not dream for the longest time in my life..During my life I must admit, I have made some poor choices for myself and so I have been really busy trying to survive myself and those choices...This made me very tired at the end of a day where when I fall asleep, my body simply recuperates. Even so, I knew I am a dreamer because when I was a child I could recall all my dreams, so I figured that my subconscious needed to rest so that I could cope with realtime. For many years, I didn't recall them and then some events have occurred so that I could empty out my closet (so to speak) and only recently I began to recall my dreams...I wonder if, you are experiencing too much stress in your life, like I did.

When I dream though, the events and characters are usually representations of people who I care for in my life. I rarely have dreams that are surreal, I think I use my subconscious as place where I can see myself in real time situations or maybe I take my conscious visualizatons and embed desires and wishes so deeply that my dreamz are a way to pave the road to prosperity.

Thank you for responding to my email. I didn't know exactly where to put the post. Now I will go find the original link for the site that I found as I am always exploring my imagination...

I will fix the original post for easy access...

Peace.

*it works!!!

Yes. Cupid, I think that our dreamz are a means for our escape sometimes too. Like I was stating in in my last post, I have made some poor choices that caused me a life time of grief. I have used many different mediums to seek a state or plane that feels like I belong...I started reading about astral travelling when I was about 13, and rather than run away from home when I felt a big void, I would simply astral travel myself to far and distant places such as Central America or Europe...Looking at our dreams doesn't always me we are asleep...I think the Arts gives us a great place to realize our rhythms.

p.s. Happy 1st Day of May...

Then your dreamingtime conjoins with work???

Work is an important facet for meditation, Maksa...If I can help and am able, please let me do some service for you....Happy Daze are shining on...

I had to quit many activities that were driving against my state of peacefulness. I work actually almost 50 hours a week in my place of employ, but finding a sense of peace and lovingness is where I find I need to focus my energies in my path...

I visualize for you, a sense of serenity and relaxation...

Thank you so very much, for this blessing and our interactions. May we all grow and give each other the support and love in which Humans thrive on...for a better space in the cosmos...
