Default discovering my roots

Hi there I'm new and very eager and excited! I'm here to learn more about my roots. My father is Indian and lives there (I've only been to visit twice) and I was brought up in the US mostly by my mom. I just saw the movie "Outsourced" last week which made me more curious to learn about my background. so I'm learning more about Indian culture and that's why I'm here, hope to talk to some of you soon! I'm sure I'll embarrass myself a lot soon!

Hey, welcome to India - from a fellow US citizen with only the most remote of forgotten ancestral roots. You'll have a great time here and can learn a lot - and don't worry about being embarrassed, you're among friends. We all get pretty silly around here

Yes, I didn't know exactly where to post it, as Outsourced isn't a Bollywood movie, it's US made but made in India, but it's really a US independent movie, not an Indian film. I think because of that it shows India in a very glowing light.

"Whenever I ran across a world where your relatives stayed, and they lived a few miles away, and you have the roots that are really strong in your community, that always felt like a wonderful romantic notion. And this [movie] was about discovering this whole root system that you didn't realize you had.”
